Is Samsung S8 worth buying in 2019?

Is Samsung S8 worth buying in 2019?

That's a very good question.! About 3 months ago (Aug 2019), I bought my little sister S8. I got it about $440 w/tax. He lives in the US. Since then he has traveled to more than 5 European countries and took many photos. He told me that he had no problems with the phone, except for the fingerprint reader placement. S8 is still a power plant with a powerful processor that can handle heavy workloads. Since this is the top player in the year 2017, there is no need for further explanation.

I mean, don't miss this amazing buying opportunity. If you are going to pay $450 for a strong phone, why not? If you can get at least 2 years from this phone, you have made a good purchase there. Now if you are a person who always wants the latest and greatest technology, S8 may be outdated for you.

If you're conscious of your budget and still want a flagship that's capable of handling whatever you throw, S8 is a must-do. REMEMBER, the smartphone market almost reaches saturation. The phone from 3 years ago will still work today without major problems.

Is the Samsung Galaxy s8 + waterproof?

Is the Samsung Galaxy s8 + waterproof?

On paper it ranks IP68. Means waterproof and dust resistant to certain lab conditions.

First, you need to understand the difference between water resistance and waterproof.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 + have a waterproof and dust-resistant feature rated IP68. The IP68 rating indicates that the Galaxy S8 and S8 + are waterproof up to 1.5 metres (4.92 feet) for 30 minutes.

Note that this  "1.5 meters (4.92 feet) for 30 minutes. " is tested in ideal lab conditions with pure water. Water treated with other chemicals is not considered. Other things water depth, source and pressure.

The water pressure on the 1.5-metre test tube with a diameter of 7 inches is not exactly the same as the 10-square-metre swimming pool and is not the same as the endless ocean shore.

Salty water is not very friendly with electronic devices. Specifically the lab conditions are rated smartphones. Whatever your smartphone's IP rating is, DO NOT soak salt water. I definitely wouldn't recommend swimming with your phone. When IEC tests the smartphone, it is done in a lab condition, with the handset in idle mode-not in the pool which is filled with various chemicals used to clean the water.

So, what does this ranking shows?

Having a rated, IP67/68 smartphone ensures you are suddenly stuck in light to heavy rain, your phone won't die instantly. Or if you accidentally drop your phone in a pond, your phone will last until you quickly pull over. Or if you shed your morning coffee over the phone.

Overview of water resistance:

  1. DO NOT swim with your S8 excessively.
  2. DO NOT use it in salt water.
  3. It is not advisable to put your phone in a bucket of water to cool it.
  4. About preliminary evidence:

Galaxy S8/s8 + use Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides. So it's pretty scratch resistant against ordinary locks, coins, room dust. But it's definitely scratched. So using a case or skin sounds a good idea for me.
